Complete guide: Hack Nokia N70 Firmware to Music Edition

Using some very easy and small hacks you can convert your Nokia n70 to music edition with the original nokia updater. As you must have already seen the n70 music edition is black casing and some new features and updates are also added, the price tag is also quite high.

Briefing: Basically we change the normal editions product code to music edition’s product code and there by convince the nokia firmware updater to download and install the latest music edition firmware.

Tools Required:

1. Nemesis Service Suite
(new link for nemesis : http://www.symbian-freak.com/news/008/05/nss_gets_un_update.htm)
2. Nokia Software Updater

Instructions:

  1. Connect your phone and wait for Windows to detecting it.
  2. Open Nemesis Service Suite and click “Scan for new device” on the right-upper part of the window
  3. Click on the icon “Phone info”
  4. Click on “Scan”
  5. Change the product code to 0536418 and mark the case “Enable”.
  6. Press “Write”, and your phone’s product code will be changed (you might think that nothing happened, because the phone is still in normal mode, and the changing of the product code only takes a couple of seconds, but don’t worry, the product code changed !).
  7. Close Nemesis Service Suite and run the Nokia Software Update.
  8. Make sure not to touch the cable or the phone while your phone is updating or else you will break it!
  9. That’s it! When you restart your phone, it should now be the Nokia N73 Music Edition!

  1. bro help me i want to update my nokia n70 to music editin but the problem is when i run NSU the pc suite sees n70 disconnected via usb and then after i exit the NSU it connected again so i try two ca – 53 cable but its still the same problem help pls

  2. mate.. once again…. it alwys better to remove the pc suite before doing anythin of this sort…

    1. connect the fone…
    2. open NSS…
    3. change the product code
    4. Write to phone (u wont notice anythn)
    5. close the NSS.. (we dont need it nymore)

    6. Open the Nokia software uupdater….
    7. connect the charger…
    8. click update…
    9. enjoy..lol

    don’t forget to backup everthing in memory phone otherwise you’ll loose it. I’ve lost all the phone number stored in memory phone after the transformation.

  10. Can you give me some link to download full version of Nokia N70 Music edition softwares..?
    There’s one problem.. Can you tell me how to uninstall a installed software from my phone? The said software doesnt get listed in File Manager..

  11. go to the app manager there will be some random named files that are not installed… install them and then try uninstalling to remove these files

  15. When you say, “Connect your phone and wait for Windows to detecting it.” Do I connect using my N70 data cable or thru bluetooth. Either ways Windows doesn’t detect it automatically. Though while connecting thru bluetooth I am able to pair my phone and PC.

  26. just one probl i ve changed that product code and after 1/2 year i want my standard n70 firmware…but…i can t change the code it said it s writen but when i do read again it not it s the same code as it was before,ive used all three cables and nothing :( what can i do????

  35. I’ve just change my phone N70 from firmware to music edition. It’s easy, but you will lose multimedia key option
    But don’t worry if your N70 Have been update before like me, just reinstall it.
    But if not, you can install the update + change it.
    Warning…: NSS like error! You must restart computer for easy way…

  39. Can any body tell me, have can i update firmware? When i trying to update the updater says cannot update bicose you all ready is newest firmware version. But have can i change n70 to music edetion?

I have done everything but when I start with nokia updater it’s give me an error, “minimum memory requirement is 256MB” once you click ok you will get another error like “installation operation failed” “fetal error” please help me. How can I format and reinstall my nokia n70 music edition. My phone hang every second min. thanks
